MONTSEC's daytime sky is considered one of the best free flight areas in the world. As for MONTSEC's night sky, the UNESCO M&B (Man and Biosphere) Program certified it as one of the best skies in the world to observe the cosmos and the firmament. This is the reason why the Parc Astronòmic Montsec (PAM) was built here.
The wide variety of Montsec's natural areas allows the implementation of many active tourism activities in contact with nature: air, water and land. The most important sites are the Mont-rebei gorge and the Centre BTT Montsec – la Noguera.
MONTSEC, Montain, Water and Sky
The territory of MONTSEC’s tourist brand is situated at the gateway to the Pyrenees and it comprises the Noguera region and the southern part of the Pallars Jussà region. MONTSEC has an ideal share of nature, adventure, culture, science and gastronomy.
The wide diversity of MONTSEC's elements and contrasts gives it its adventurous yet cosy nature. This captivates the visitor and transports him to a world of sensations and experiences which won't fail to move him: mountains, valleys, rivers, reservoirs, gorges, forests and dry land. All the things which were sculpted in the past by the wind and water are currently presented as an open door to the enjoyment of flying, sailing or walking.
