Segre - Rialb
Sant Pere Collegiate Church in Ponts (11th-12th centuries):
Lombard Romanesque church with the octagonal tower mounted on the largest transept in Catalonia (tel. 973 462 233).
Santa Maria Monastery in Gualter (12th century):
Architectural complex formed by a monastic church, a cloister and the priory old rooms. An explosion destroyed its roof during the Civil War. It is possible to visit it at heights by walking on concrete walkways with metal railings. The municipality of Baronia de Rialb gathers a group of 23 chapels and Romanesque churches (tel. 973 460 234 – www.baroniarialb.cat).
It is an ideal place for stillwater sports such as kayaking, ski-bus, motorboat, paddle surfing, windsurfing... and canyoning on the river Rialb (tel. 669 066 085 or tel. 932 053 667 – www.lapicatrips.com).
It is a village which was flooded because of the construction of the Rialb reservoir. Many of the village's elements were moved to Solés, where the new Tiurana was built (tel. 973 056 046 – www.tiurana.cat).
